Come and work for Liverpool’s first ever Vertical Farm in the heart of the city!
Join a unique organisation on a mission to find more sustainable ways to grow food in cities.
Who we are
Farm Urban is a pioneering social enterprise, growing fresh greens in hi-tech indoor systems in the heart of Liverpool. In 2019 we created the city’s first vertical farm and launched our Greens for Good campaign bringing healthy, locally grown greens to people across the city.
The food we eat has a huge effect on our health and wellbeing. At Farm Urban, we’re taking a grassroots approach to health and wellbeing. Over the past five years, we have been educating schools, businesses and communities on the benefits of growing food in cities, and how we can create a sustainable future for food.
Values we look for
- Passion for positive social and environmental change: a desire to create a more sustainable and inclusive food system.
- Willingness to step out of your comfort zone, take risks and explore the unknown.
- Curiosity and inquisitiveness: a desire to learn and to embrace setbacks as an opportunity for growth.
Why we think you’ll love Farm Urban
Our Team: We’re a small team of people passionate and dedicated to finding interesting and innovative solutions to big, complex problems. We come from a wide range of backgrounds and love to share our interests and experiences with each other, providing fresh perspectives and collaborating in creative ways on a whole host of projects.
Location: Farm Urban is located in the heart of the Baltic Triangle, Liverpool’s digital and creative hub. In addition to our underground farm, we have office space with the Baltic Creative community, creating lots of opportunities to connect with our inspiring and creative neighbours.
Flexible Working: Even before COVID we always encouraged people to find the way of working that works best for them. We’re all working more from home these days and supporting our team’s physical, mental and emotional well-being under these circumstances is of utmost importance to us. We’re working hard to ensure everyone has options to work in the way that suits them best through this period.
Team Meetings and Socials: We don’t just do tactical meetings – once a week we get together to explore how we work as a team and the culture we’re all part of creating. More informally we find fun ways to share interests and activities at social get-togethers.
Learning and training: We’ll contribute towards books, training courses and conferences that help you learn and grow in your role here.
Holidays: 25 days’ holiday a year (plus UK public holidays), and we encourage you to use them all up.
